WWE SmackDown was full of surprises, including the amazing SmackDown Women’s Championship match. It all started when Ronda Rousey went out to celebrate her victory over Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania Backlash. Rousey said, “Charlotte Flair was a 13-time world champion. That’s a great stat. The keynote was there because I hold the SmackDown Women’s Championship now. I have to give credit to her because it was one of the biggest challenges I’ve ever faced, and had to He broke her arm to get her to say I quit, even though I was going to die before I could say those words, but that’s just me.” She then said that she thought fans wanted a fighting hero, so she released a locker room challenge, then Raquel Rodriguez’s musical.
The latest SmackDown Superstar came to the ring smiling, and after meeting Rousey head-on he said “Ronda, my name is Raquel Rodriguez. I accept your challenge.” She then added that it would be a great honor to fight someone as legendary as her, but she also said that she would make history this time. Then it was revealed that this was happening tonight, and it was actually a match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
They were locked up very quickly and then Rodriguez easily picked up Rossi and threw her to the other side of the ring. Rossi then came back strong but Rodriguez grabbed Rossi by the head and hit her in the closing torch. Rossi then got her back but was met again by Rodriguez’s force, throwing Rossi into a corner and then carrying her again and hitting a fall.
Rodriguez picked Rossi again and hit another Fallaway Slam, then went for cover but Rossi was sent off. Next, Rodriguez picked up Rossi and pressed her back over her shoulder, but Rossi ran away to get a shoe in his face. Rodriguez threw Rossi into the corner but she dodged Rodriguez and grabbed her arm. Rodriguez carried her again and hit the side of the slam.
Rodriguez climbed to the top and went to have fun but Rossi got out of the way. Rossi tried to pick Rodgers but couldn’t, though she kicked her in the knee. He followed the elbow and then Rousey went to get Rodriguez but picked her up instead, only for Rousey to be picked up in a vertical suplex and slammed, despite Rousey being kicked out of the cover.
Rousey unleashed several hits and went for the arm again, then kicked her in the face and lifted her only for Rodriguez to run away and Rousey lifted her up and hit her. Rodriguez lifted Rossi again but Rossi locked his arm, causing him to throw it onto the ropes to break it. Rosie then grabbed her leg and inserted the ankle lock, but Rodriguez kicked her out and hit her with a huge boot in the face. Covered but Russian expelled. Rodriguez raised it again but Rossi rolled and rolled to get the pin and win.
Rodriguez was shocked and Rossi looked worn out, even though she was still a champion. Rossi extended her hand and Rodriguez shook it, giving Rodriguez a movement that close.
